Over the 11 years that I have been teaching finance at the Post Graduate Level in Management I estimate that more than 10,000 students must have attended my classes at various Business Schools in Bangalore. Now most of my former students would be professionals in their own right and many in the Finance vertical . They would be managers and Executives with various challenges among which would be recruiting talent and retooling their team members.
In such a scenario the platform where all of them can meet to recruit each other, recruit my new students , share their knowledge with each other and a wider audience would be most appropriate.
Firstly I propose that we connect back and tell our friends who attended my classes to regroup on the face book group.
Secondly I intend to build a data base of students grouping them into various verticals and consequently form different pools.
Thirdly I intend to build a web site where all job openings and requirements in Finance can be advertised, when you recruit my student you know you are getting a quality certified by me and the content and knowledge level built by me, so quality is assured.
Fourthly I intend to host a monthly once on a weekend a Boot camp in Finance where you all can send in those people who were never my students and consequently knowledge level is not what you might approve off.
Fifthly you all can contribute any article you wish to which I will host on the web site and build a way to syndicate your articles to news papers, With many of you at the forefront of Currency, Equity, Debt, Credit markets , Derivatives market and Banking and Financial Institutions you will have a lot to share, I will edit the articles and probably add two articles on say Credit Derivatives and syndicate it, this will give you visibility.
Sixth would be an annual Continuing Professional Development Seminar where I intend to invite speakers of repute in various technical areas like say Quantitative Finance etc.
Seventh I would build on this more to make this a hub of activity for Finance Professionals
Lastly I would welcome ideas to enrich this.
